Martin Horn received the PhD in electrical engineering in 1998 and the habilitation in “System Dynamics and
Control” in 2003. From 2003 to 2008 he was associate professor at the Institute of Automation and Control at
Graz University of Technology. In 2008 he was appointed as a full professor of Control and Measurement Systems
at the Faculty of Technical Sciences of Klagenfurt University. Since 2014 he is head of the Institute of
Automation and Control at Graz University of Technology. Currently he is Dean of Studies for Digital Engineering,
chairs the Curricular Committee for Field of Studies Electrical Engineering, is member of the Curricular Committee of the Senate for Bachelor and Master Programmes and the Working Group for Equal Opportunities.
He is the Austrian representative in the European Control Association and serves a reporter of the board of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) for the section Engineering Technology.
Research
Martin’s main research areas are currently in robust and networked control theory with applications in pharmaceutical, semiconductor and automotive industry.
He is head of the Christian Doppler - Laboratory on Model-based Control
of Complex Test-bed Systems. He participates in numerous national and international research projects and has been co-operating with a number of international research groups, e.g., in Germany, Mexico and Italy.
Martin is author and co-author of numerous journal and conference papers, see also. He is reviewer for several important journals and conferences, such as International Journal of Control,
International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Automatica or Control Engineering Practice.
