We are a BioTechMed Graz YoungResearcher Group interested in the design of enzymes. We are fascinated by designing de-novo enzymes or introducing variability and other selectivities to existing ones.
Our main interest is focused on designing new enzymes harbouring non-natural selectivities.
What we do
- Using AI and physics based algorithms and programs to design or redesign enzymes.
- Structure prediction (AF2, ESMFold, ...)
- Sequence generation (ProteinMPNN, Rosetta, ...)
- Backbone generation (RFDiffusion, ...)
- Scripting custom made Python-based pipelines to achive designs.
- Producing designs using E. coli, S. cerevisiae or P. pastoris.
- Characterizing designs using FACS, HPLC, GC and UV/Vis spectroscopy.
- Structural characterization of functional designs using biophysical methods - mostly X-ray crystallography.
